The temperance tarot card meaning
The Angel of Temperance pours the water over from one chalice to another.
He does this very carefully, without losing a single drop of the total contents. In doing so, he stands with one foot in the water and one foot on land.
The two chalices again represent duality, the male and female aspect, thinking and feeling.
The angel (Archangel Michael) can be seen as the divine part, the higher self. He brings about the balance between the male and female part in man and merges them. This merging naturally takes place in the soul and is simultaneously expressed in the everyday world here on earth. This can be seen, because one foot of the angel stands in the water (water = soul) and the other on the ground (earth).
Being in harmony and balance with oneself is not only an inner event. It also expresses itself in the everyday world, namely in our environment, in the association with others.
The sun sign on the forehead is a universal symbol. It represents the enlightened state of man and also the opening of the third eye.
The square on the chest containing the divine triangle symbolizes the trinity of the spirit, soul and body.
The quadrangle represents the earth with the four elements, the four seasons and the four points of the compass. The path behind the angel leads back to the light.
The Temperance symbolizes balance and harmony in oneself and with others through adjustment. As a result, the right measure is obtained. It is a good luck card; an attitude card (conscious from within).
