This card exudes abundance and wealth. It can be seen, that the king of pentacles is fond of all good things, which the earth has to offer. This is symbolized by the roses on his crown and the cloak adorned with bunches of grapes. Moreover, his throne is located in the palace garden. He clearly wants to enjoy life to the fullest.

The king of pentacles has the ability to successfully manage material matters of any kind. He owes this to his perseverance and willpower. His harnessed leg is a symbol of this. The four bulls' heads refer to the element Earth (in astrology, Taurus is an Earth sign) and the number four as such refers to earthly reality, the earth.
The king of pentacles is reliable, good-natured and generous. he enjoys life, he is the king of reality.

FIRE OF EARTH: Fertility.
The active element of fire is now fed by the passive element of earth. This king is therefore a lot calmer than the (sometimes) impetuous kings of wands and swords. This king makes sure that his land, and himself, are doing well. Both the fertility of the land and the quality of the food on his table are of concern to him. He is strongly reminiscent of the belief of many ancient peoples that the life force (fire) of the monarch determines the fertility of the land.
